Dave Guardala “Studio” Tenor Mpc. Customized for C-Mel
C-Melody saxes have a unique sound…neither alto nor tenor in nature. It can sound a bit subdued…a parlor instrument if you will.
If you have wanted more projection from your C-Melody sax, this is the answer, a Guardala Studio mouthpiece. The shank was shortened slightly so that it could be played in tune on a Conn C-Melody micro-tuner neck. The shank rim has been nicely chamfered, a professional job. A “C” has been engraved on the shank to designate that this will work with a C-Melody sax.
The facing and baffle have been untouched, so it works fine on your tenor sax as well.
This silver-plated mouthpiece is in excellent condition. It come with the Selmer metal ligature and Otto Link black plastic cap. The ligature has teflon strips lining it for ease of use and to minimize scratching the mouthpiece. The cap has a couple of bumpers on the inside to make it a snug fit.
UPDATE JAN. 20, 2016 – Just in case you were worried, we made a delrin extension for the shank of this mouthpiece as seen in the last six photos which restores the mouthpiece to its original length in case you wanted to use it on your tenor and needed to pull out pretty far. Only $20 more bucks in addition to the cost of the mouthpiece. This is the same as the extensions I sell for bari sax mouthpiece like HERE.
