I can’t blame them. It is a big organization and it takes a lot of money to maintain it. WWBW is owned by Guitar Center. Wikipedia says: “Guitar Center’s sister companies/subsidiaries incorporate Music & Arts, Musician’s Friend, GuitarCenter.com, LMI, Giardinelli, Musician.com, Private Reserve Guitars, Woodwind and Brasswind, Music 123, and Harmony Central.”
If you are like me, you didn’t even realize that WWBW (Woodwind and Brasswind), Musician’s Friend and Music 123 are all one company.
I am guessing that they can get mouthpieces like these a lot cheaper than I can.
I looked up the CEO of Guitar Center and I think it is Darrell Webb. I tried to search on the internet to see how much money he makes, but couldn’t find out. But before he went to Guitar Center, he was the CEO of Jo-Ann Fabrics stores. He got paid $7,484,533 at Jo-Ann Fabrics according to THIS WEBSITE. Just guessing here, but I can’t imagine he is making less at Guitar Center.
You could try to call Darrell. If you are lucky enough to get ahold of him, maybe ask him what he thinks about Link STM alto mouthpieces. Who knows, maybe he will thank you for giving him the extra $20. But you don’t have to ask him why they charge so much for a Link STM alto mouthpiece. I think you already know.
