This Varitone pickup was factory installed in a later model Buescher 400 Tenor neck. This was after Selmer USA had bought out Buescher. The original owner purchased two necks for the horn, both underslung, one with the Varitone pickup.

Bringing it “Up To Snuff”
Replaced all the upper and lower stack pads. Black Roo pads with original Buescher resonators. The owner’s comment: “I CAN WHISPER ON LOW B FLAT….NICE WORK! Thanks Kim”

Nice old Buescher Tenor 274xxx up for refurb. Lacquer is all worn off, but I don’t think it was stripped or buffed.
